Most Westerners abhor the smell and some (or rather this particular chef on the afc channel) even go as far to say it smells like rotten onions. Most Asians however especially those in this SouthEastern region love this fruit. Some buy heaps and they don't sell them cheap. I have to admit the durian smell lingers and stays on your breath even after furiously brushing your teeth. But the taste is something else. No other fruit tastes rich and creamy and oh so indulgent. Not counting calories is a must when eating this forbidden fruit. And as it only comes with season, i'd recommend indulging in this sinful fruit. In my backyard/hill, there is durian tree and for the past 5 days has had the pleasure of dropping one fruit each day. Here is a picture of the last and biggest durian. It is of a montong variety.
