Apple slice

Jess, one of the nurses at the GP practise i'm at was telling us of how much the guests at a wedding she went to loved her apple slice and how they all wanted her recipe. So i got her to tell us and i baked a batch for my pbl today. Here's the recipe. I didn't take a picture of it though.

Apple slice recipe

1 vanilla cake mix - buy the homebrand one
1 cup coconut
125g butter melted
1 tin pie apple - superimportant that these are pie apples because you don't want to add any more liquid to the mix
1 small tub of sourcream - she didn't specify which so i bought the smallest one

1 egg, beaten

How-to:
-Preheat oven to 180 deg celcius.
-Mix the cake mix, coconut and butter together. Use your fingers to mix it all together. Pile and press onto base of lined tin. Use a regular cake tin, don't use a large biscuit tray.
-Beat together sourcream and egg and add in apples. Pile on the base and distribute evenly.
-Cook for 30mins. Let cool before slicing away.

Jess brought some on the last day we (the students) were at the practice and it was fantastic. I've pretty much eaten half of the ones i've made myself.

Yes, vanilla cake mix untuk buat vanilla cake and pie apples, ada tu kana label 'pie apples'. Just get the small tin, i bought the small one which was 400g. They have no liquid in them which is exactly what the recipe requires for the top part to set..

Have fun baking..
